Easy way to backup Android Contacts to Gmail or Computer

Method 1. Android Contacts Backup to Gmail

If you want to backup Android contacts to Gmail, you ought to register a Google account first. With it, you can backup your phone data easily. Log into your Gmail account on your Android device where contacts are stored.

1. Go to your list of apps and tap "Settings".
2. Find "Accounts & Syncs" and then tap "Google".
3. Tap the Google account you want to sync.
4. Check "Sync Contacts".

The contacts will automatically sync but the frequency varies a bit. You can manually sync things whenever you need by tapping Sync now.

Go to your Gmail account to check the synced contacts:

Log into Gmail. In the drop down menu, please click on Contacts. If you saw your contact list from your Android phone there, it means that Google has already backed up your contacts.

Method 2. Backup Contacts from Android to PC

Basically, compared Gmail, backing up Android contacts to PC/computer is a more reliable way. As reported, Some users can't find their synced contacts on Gmail. Here are two different ways under it, choose one at will.

Way 1: Export Contacts to (USB) Storage

1. Open Contact list on your Android phone
2. Go to your contacts menu and select "Import/Export Contacts"
3. Hit on "Export to storage". Your Android contacts will be saved as a .vCard file.
4. Connect your Android phone to PC via a USB cable and drag-drop the vCard file to PC.

Way 2: Using Android Backup Tool
